Professional Wedding Photography, Yes or No?

It is contraversial, and there´s a lot of debats on this, so i´m going to kick-off this theme here.

How many of you keep thinking if you should spend some hundreds pounds on having a professional photographer or just keep the money and have some polaroids around and your guest do the business?

Is it money worthing or the alternative is just as good?

Photos are without a doubt a way of keeping memories. They are and will be that sacret place where you can go and revive one of the best days of your life. And because of that many of us, yes me included, think "I can´t risk it on the hand of my guest, that probably will be drunk in the middle of the party" or "well i want pics taken by my guests, but i also want the pro ones, the ones where i can trust to have somenone that will trully capture the moment and i can show to everyone.

But there´s also a lot of you that think " Well, i´ll have pics of the day taken by my guest and they´ll be true to the day and spirits, not poses and stuff. They will be charm, funny and party pics! So why spend a fortune on that?"

My question here is, if it wasn´t for budget limitations would it be a question?

In my humble opinion, there is no right or wrong, but if i have the money, why not? And i´m very afraid of the kind of photos my guest would take...that´s why i offer the service here.

But, what about you? What do you think?

I firmly believe in letting the professionals do their jobs. I am a professional at my job and I feel that if you want it done correctly, then contacting a professional is the way to go. They have the knowledge and experience that can be priceless.
